Libusb Pcsx2 Dualshock 3

Note: Generics, clones, knockoffs and third party devices are strictly unsupported.

The DualShock 3 and 4 can be paired with your Mac with Bluetooth or they can be plugged into USB. The following are instructions for pairing over Bluetooth.

DualShock 3

• Press the reset next to the L2 button with a paperclip.
• Open Bluetooth preferences (System Preferences > Bluetooth).
• Connect your controller via USB
• Press the PS Home button and then unplug the USB cable
• You will be prompted for a password to pair the controller. Enter 0000 as the password.

Keyboards / mice / DirectInput / XInput/ direct DualShock 3 connections are all supported. It supports multiple devices of all types, and devices of different types can be mixed and matched. Sensitivity can be adjusted. If you're using a PlayStation 3 controller and have already installed all the drivers, then the 'DualShock 3 native mode' will be available; and you will need to tick it. You can also tick 'Monitor when in the background', which will let you press any key on the gamepad when the emulator is minimized but still let the game receive the input.

Your controller should now be selectable in OpenEmu's Controls preferences

DualShock 4

• Press the reset on the back of the controller near the L2 button with a paperclip.
• Open Bluetooth preferences (System Preferences > Bluetooth).
• Press the PS Home button and Share button at the same time, until the lightbar quickly flashes.
• Click 'Pair' on the controller's entry in the Bluetooth preferences window.

Your controller should now be selectable in OpenEmu's Controls preferences

Some games like Mad Maestro! or the Metal Gear Solid 3 titles utilize the PlayStation 2's pressure sensitive buttons missing on many 3rd party gamepads. To play them with your DualShock 3 appropriately the ScpToolkit includes a modified LilyPad plugin and a custom XInput proxy DLL, allowing the analog values of the button states to be reflected within the emulator.

Installation

The installation of the modification is pretty straight forward, you can either chose the automated or the manual approach (where the automated one is in fact identical to the manual steps).

Automated process

Launch the ScpToolkit Settings Manager and switch to the PCSX2 settings section:

Here you have to specify the PCSX2 installation path and hit Enable afterwards. That's it!

Manual steps

1. Browse to your ScpToolkit installation folder, then to the sub-folder XInputx86
2. Copy all files in this directory to the root of your PCSX2 installation folder (e.g. C:Program Files (x86)PCSX2 1.2.1)
3. In the PCSX2 sub-folder Plugins delete the file lilypad-rXXXX.dll or rename its extension to something else but .dll!
4. Copy LilyPad-Scp-r5875.dll from the LilyPad sub-folder (ScpToolkit) to the Plugins directory of PCSX2
5. Open ScpXInput.ini with a text editor and set the BinPath property to your installation folder, like:

Configuration

Launch PCSX2. You should be greeted by the initial configuration wizard:

Novation usb drivers. Make sure the LilyPad SCP plugin is selected under PAD and hit Configure..:

Under Game Device APIs untick XInput and tick DualShock 3, then only the Keyboard and the DualShock 3 should be visible in the device list:

You can now start mapping the buttons on your DualShock 3 to the desired Pad:
