Hey all, I just started replaying Fallout New Vegas, this time with an absolute smorgasbord of mods installed to liven up the experience, but I've been experiencing a glitch with the outside ground/dirt textures I can't really figure out.
Fallout New Vegas FNV4gb- Graphical/Texture Issue - (SOLVED) - posted in Mod Organizer - Fallout Support: SOLVED: With the help from RoyBaatterian over on his nexus mod pags for Fallout New Vegas 4GB Updated, this problem I was having has now been solved. It turns out that it was a problem with my video driver not correctly detecting the game, due to the different file name. I was instructed. The 'Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting' thread in the 'Fallout New Vegas Mod Troubleshooting' forum is for questions, suggestions, and discussion of this article's contents. The article is organized around various generic topics, with specific mod conflicts or issues that don't fit into the other categories under 'Solutions to.
Every 200 feet or so while outside, the ground will only have its 'far away', unbearably low-resolution textures loaded, while everything else nearby (rocks, roads, rail lines, trees, anything but the dirt really) will all be fully loaded with no issue. If I stand still waiting to see if the ground ever loads in, it never will, but if I step forward about 20-30 feet into the low-res areas they'll instantly load the full resolution textures.
I'm pretty sure this isn't some kind of mod error, because I don't have anything that edits ground textures, and I don't think its an issue with LOD, since i went into Fallout.ini and quadrupled all the major LOD values, and while that made everything ELSE load full detail at long distance, the dirt still won't load. Has anyone had any similar problems, or know of a fix for them? All help is appreciated. If I wasn't so broke, I'd send y'all cookies for helping too.
Here are a few screenshots I took to show the issue:
