The official Twitter account for Back Street Girls: Gokudols (Back Street Girls -Yakuza Idols-), the live-action film adaptation of Jasmine Gyuh's Back Street Girls comedy manga, revealed on Sunday that the project will also include a live-action television series. The series will air on MBS and TBS' 'Dramaism' programming block, and will premiere on MBS on February 17 and on TBS on February 19. The show will have six episodes.

Keinosuke Hara is returning to direct the series, and Hidehiro Itō is returning to write the script alongside Kōta Fukihara and Midori Satō. The main cast from the film are also returning for the series. New cast for the series includes Arisa Komiya and Hideo Nakano. Ryūjin Kiyoshi will perform the opening theme song 'Koishite Koishite Yashinatte,' and a different artist will perform the ending theme song each week.

Toei revealed on Monday that it is producing a live-action film adaptation of Jasmine Gyuh's Back Street Girls comedy manga. The film is titled Back Street Girls: Gokudols- (Back Street Girls -Yakuza Idols-). Keinosuke Hara is directing the film, which will open in Japan on February 8.
